Terrific Two's
Terrific Two's

I’m exhausted and I’m frazzled!
You ask “what happened to you?”
“Oh, nothing much” I say
“You see, my son just turned two!”

A relaxing day at the park.
Well, that’s what I thought!
But I chased him this way and that way
until I was tired and hot!

At home we have a big yard
with wide open spaces.
But somewhere hidden he runs
and leaves no traces!

He’s over there!
No -- he went that way!
That’s how it goes
throughout the day!

Shopping used to be easy
when he was only one.
He sat in the cart looking cute,
until I was done.

Now he struggles to get down
and wants to be free.
Those runways called “aisles”
is all he can see.

Today when I took him out
I thought he would hold my hand.
Chasing him through the store
was not what I planned!

I don’t need to go to the gym.
No aerobics for me!
I’ll be in great shape
by the time he turns three!
