The Battle
The Battle

I have been trying to spend more time with God and in His word and have been having some victories. However, I still fail terribly. I first felt angry with God that this isn't working. But I realize that my sin is not God's fault. He explains how to be victorious in His word and until I really want to win I won't get it, I guess. I realized that I haven't really been making God a priority. I haven't really sought Him with all heart and my strength.

Even in my doubts, God's word came to me and reminded me that He who began a good work in me will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. And God himself will sanctify me through and through. I know that it is working, I am just not there, I have not attained it. I need to keep pressing forward, forgetting what is behind.

It is clear that we are in a battle and we need to keep in close contact with our commanding officer and stay with the others in God's army. If I don't check in with my Commanding Officer on my "walkie-talkie" frequently I won't know what's going on, I won't be alert, and I will be sure target for Satan's attacks. I view this as the constant state of prayer where we go about our business working and playing but with quick prayers to the Father.

I need to be alert as to my condition in this battle. Am I feeling weak or hungry or thirsty? Maybe this quick prayers are not enough now, I need to go spend some time with my God. I haven't been "in His presence" and I am in danger. I keep thinking of Daniel and how he prayed in his window three times a day. Even though we can be in constant communion with the Lord while we are doing things, we need to STOP what we are doing several times throughout the day and totally focus on Him and get into His presence and be refreshed and restored.

We must recognize that we are in a battle and God is our leader. We need him and his direction constantly. We can't let down our guard for a minute. And realize that our Leader LOVES us and cares for us. He is not an unconcerned dictator. He cares for us.

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you. "

Always be alert, don't forget the battle ever.

"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings."

Meet with God many times throughout the day and be refreshed and restored. Make the time....no matter what's going on. You can't afford not to.

"And the God of peace who has called you into His eternal glory, after you have suffered a little while will himself restore you and make you strong firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever adn ever Amen. 1 Peter 5:7-10"
