It's Better
It's BetterIt seems that mealtimes are stressful in my house sometimes. How about you? I struggle to feed my children nutritious meals, to make sure they are getting foods from all the proper food groups, only to have them reject everything I make. I get irritated and angry. Then God showed me these verses from Proverbs and I realized that there are more important things -- such as love.
“Better a dry crust of bread with peace and quiet than a houseful of feasting with strife.” Proverbs 17:1
“Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.” Proverbs 15:17
“Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.” Proverbs 16:32
So then I wrote a few of my own to remind me of what’s better:
"Better to be late with warm words and smiles, than be on time with sharp words and tears."
"Better a messy house with love and laughter, than a clean house with tension and fighting."
"Better to not have things done just right with fun and friendliness than perfect order and hurt feelings."
It’s Better!
