To be a Soldier for God
God's Full Armor is
What I need to put on,
Before I am weak and
My resolve is gone.
I put on the Shoes of Peace
And I pray before I go
To rise above the things that hurt,
'Please Lord help make it so.'
I need that Sheild of Faith
Especially for my heart
I need the protection from all offense
and of all of satan's darts
I put on the Breastplate
so I can stand!
The Righteousness of God
is who I am!
For salvation I use the Helmet,
that will surely guard my mind.
When selfish people confront me
and life can seem unkind.
When the falseness of satan
bullies me around,
I'll use The Spirit's Sword of Truth
and boldly stand my ground!
In the evilness of the day,
when satan attacks through man,
I'll be able to resist,
For its with God's Grace, that I can stand!
He has begun a good work in me
and continues right til the end.
I'll fight the foe , with no trouble at all;
Because Jesus is my Friend!
